Award-Winning Puppy Training Classes in Bristol.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Where do you run puppy classes?
We run classes in Brislington & Hengrove. For exact locations check the bottom of this description.
When do you run puppy classes?
We're currently running puppy classes at:
Brislington: Fridays 6:45pm
Hengrove Church: Wednesdays 4:45pm and 7:15pm
When does your next course start?
Immediately! Yes, really! We don't do courses. We run open-enrolment classes that means you can get started straight away.
We do get busy but we always try to ensure you have to wait no longer than two weeks for your first class. The content is designed so you won't miss anything. You can choose which days you would like to attend.
When can my puppy start puppy classes?
Your puppy is welcome to come to puppy classes as long as they have had their first vaccination.
This is in-line with the WSAVA (World Small Animal Veterinary Association) recommendation. As the risk of exposure to disease in puppy class is very low and puppy socialisation is extremely important to prevent fear and/or aggression in later life.
Is my puppy too old for puppy class?
If your puppy is over 6 months old we recommend joining our Bristol Good Dog classes instead. The reason for this is that at this age they will be better served socialising with adult dogs instead of small puppies. They will learn all of the foundational skills on our Good Dog course.
What happens after I sign up?
You'll get an automated email. The email will contain a link to a form asking you to tell us more about your puppy. At the end of the form there will be a link to download our exclusive app. On the app you can use your class credits to book onto whichever puppy classes work for your schedule.
You'll also find a 'Social' tab where you can connect with other class attendees and ask questions.
Hate tech? Don't worry. If you get stuck we're always here to help just send us an email on info@houndplus.com and we'll help you get set up.
Should I buy 4 or 8 Classes?
Four classes is perfect if you're not in a rush and just want to get started.
Eight classes is perfect if you're aiming for the "perfect pet dog" and want results in a shorter period of time.
Can I bring my family/friends so they can learn too?
Absolutely, you're more than welcome to bring friends or family along.
Do I have to use my classes within a certain timeframe?
No, your class credits will remain on your account indefinitely so you don't have to worry about taking breaks or not being able to make classes.
What Your Dog Will Learn:
In puppy class we train towards our Bristol Good Puppy Award scheme that will lay the foundations for a fantastic pet dog. Within the award we teach puppies to;
- Settle in new environments
- Drop items when asked
- Recall
- Manners around food
and much more...
Plus, we help ensure you get early socialisation right with the supervision of our trainers and of course we're always happy to answer questions and talk about what matters to you.
BONUS:
Achievement Bandana & Patch -
We believe that learning doesn't stop at puppyhood. That's why we give all attendees an achievement bandana, if your dog passes our puppy class you will be awarded your Puppy Patch. This is the equivalent of a martial arts belt or Brownies badges.
If you choose to keep training you can earn various badges through our different classes and prove to the world just what an awesome team you make.
